Turntable
This is part 2 of a piece exploring a grounded, cinematic take on Kaz the Minotaur from Dragonlance, designed as a creature that could plausibly exist on set as a practical prosthetic with VFX enhancement.
Throughout the process I worked under art direction by Ruben Alba, aligning the creature with a realistic tone and a production–friendly approach. The final images are a combination of the high–res sculpt, compositing and paintover, aimed at serving as a bridge between concept art, makeup FX and VFX departments in a contemporary film pipeline.
This is the prop work for the axe design. Some early round of sketches, 2 of them selected and developed further in 2d. Then realized in 3d to a decent approximation and some final renders and turntables
